Natalie Shields

Natalie Shields is a Visual Arts Teacher at Meadows Primary School who is passionate about Visual Art education in the Primary Years. Taking the philosophy “everyone is an artist” I inspire and empower children to achieve what they thought was not possible.

Natalie enjoys developing relationships with children and young people to inspire their imagination, support critical and creative thinking as well as refining artistic skills in a supported environment. These experiences will
allow for the development of a lifelong appreciation and understanding of
the Visual Arts.

Natalie Shields undertook studies in the Visual Arts, Media Studies, and Japanese Language prior to completing a Graduate Diploma of Education at Monash University. Natalie continues to make art for her ongoing professional development working mostly in photography and textiles.  Having travelled extensively throughout Japan, her inspiration draws from Japanese culture, Scandinavian design, and a love of the everyday.
